A PRSN Board appointed strategic planning team met regularly throughout the Spring of 2024 to update the original strategic plan that was developed when PRSN was founded in 2020. The updated plan was approved by the Board on May 16, 2024. It reaffirms the value and effectiveness of PRSN’s Committees (Executive, Skills Development, Services, Partnership, Knowledge Exchange, Marketing/Communications, Revenue Generation; and Nominating) in advancing the organization’s mission. The plan also outlines organizational goals, objectives and strategies that will serve as a road map for each PRSN committee
Each PRSN committee will develop its own detailed plan. The Board will be responsible for broad oversight and direction while empowering committees to use their expertise in executing the strategies. The plan also includes a includes a framework for monitoring progress and ensuring strong communication between the Board and its committees.
The PRSN Mission was confirmed as follows:
- To provide collective resources and support to private refugee sponsors in transforming the lives of those they sponsor through effective and efficient settlement in Canada.
The PRSN Vision was confirmed as follows:
- To create a national network of private refugee sponsors to connect, learn and share “Best Practices” around post-arrival issues.
The Strategic Plan has the following four overarching goals:
- To provide accessible, relevant information and support to a growing number of private refugee sponsors in Ontario and beyond.
- To foster widespread recognition and value of private sponsorship as an essential component of the refugee settlement sector.
- To ensure excellence in organizational effectiveness.
- To build financial sustainability.
