PRSN began in 2016 to address gaps in support for private sponsors

The idea behind PRSN started when close to 40,000 Syrians arrived in Canada; forty-five per cent of whom were privately sponsored. When those private sponsors needed answers, they found them by working together — sharing experiences and identifying knowledge gaps. Experienced sponsors began to mentor first-time sponsors and the foundation for PRSN was built.

Today, we want to be a trusted resource for sponsors to help them make a difference in the lives of newcomers. Volunteers are the driving force behind our work, from creating new learning resources and determining best practices, facilitating connections with fellow sponsors, to collaborating with settlement agencies and knowledge experts to ensure efficient and effective settlement.
