PRSN is continually striving to improve sponsor settlement of newcomers by providing workshops and lunch & learn events. As always, attendees have an opportunity to provide valuable feedback on these sessions that we use to shape our offerings. Recently, we gained some valuable information about what we offer through a survey to sponsors and sponsorship agreement holders (SAHs). We are still in the process of collecting data for this relationship survey, but our preliminary analysis of sponsor data led to early observations:
- Sponsors are eager to have readily accessible information on practical matters related to newcomer settlement;
- Sponsors find that the Lunch & Learn and Workshop sessions provide valuable, practical information and guidance;
- Sponsors appreciate the opportunity to connect with other sponsors to share experiences and gain new knowledge;
- Sponsors welcome receiving the expertise of professionals who are actively working in the field;
- Sponsors see the benefit of building stronger relationships and bonds with SAHs to improve settlement of newcomers.
PRSN’s new and improved website provides more opportunities to access training materials, including on-demand training, practice guidelines and a regional resource directory. PRSN is already at work through its Partnership Committee to explore a co-sponsored sector event on the importance of sponsor training for effective settlement practice.
If you are a sponsor, you will want to take advantage of these no-cost programs and services.
