Committees of any organization are where the work happens; they determine how best to advance the work to reach the network goals and objectives. Here are two more committees that you should know about and how they are working for you.

Sustainability
Chair:  Marika Elek, marika.elek@alumni.utoronto.ca

Charged with the short-term and longer-term sustainability of the Network, this committee has developed a strategy to support the acquisition of both operational and project funding, to serve your needs in connection, learning and sharing. Targets include government, foundations, corporations and individuals. It continues to build a potential pipeline list while it waits for its charitable status confirmation. In the meantime, it has prepared a case for support document and is working on the development of measurement outcomes that will be part of every fundraising submission. If you have networking skills, are a strategic thinker, and enjoy writing proposals, this may be the committee for you. You could make a difference in the lives of sponsors by ensuring the Network has the support it needs to continue its growth and expansion. For more information, get in touch with Marika Elek, committee chair.

Partnership
Interim Chair: Tarek Elmaghraby

This committee’s focus is building collaborative relationships with settlement agencies, SAHs, and others in the sector. Its members want to find a way to improve how we work together, and how the Network can address some of the issues that cause both settlement agencies and SAHs to be overburdened. Using research tools and consultation, it has identified issues that create barriers to success in settlement and is working on plans to address new solutions toward the implementation of best practice. If you like relationship building, research, analysis, and are a good problem-solver, you will be welcomed on this committee. If you are interested in participating in this committee, get in touch with Barbara Sheffield, volunteer administrator, at b.sheffield@rogers.com.
