Want to help Ukrainian newcomers?

More than 200,000 Ukrainians have arrived in Canada since the February 2022 invasion by Russia. More Ukrainians are arriving every day, and they need help – just like refugees coming from Syria, Afghanistan, and other countries in crisis. Even though they are here on a three-year emergency visa, many are planning to stay in Canada as their homeland is destroyed by war. Haven is a registered non-profit that uses an online platform to connect Ukrainian newcomers who need help with Canadians who can offer help. Haven is seeking help from PRSN’s experienced sponsors who may not be busy settling other newcomers to sign up on the platform to contribute an hour or two of their time to Ukrainians now living in their communities, or who may arrive in the months ahead. Check-out the platform at findhaven.org if you’re curious to see what help Ukrainians need. As you can expect, the most important needs include secure housing, rebuilding their social networks, and finding work. If you aren’t able to help personally, please share the platform link with people in your community who may be interested in helping Ukrainians fleeing war.  For more information, contact Victor Lal, a PRSN participant, at victor@findhaven.org.
