Are you or your group interested in helping PRSN develop and test a mentoring service for sponsors? Mentoring is a voluntary partnership between two individuals intended to support personal development and growth. It is an ongoing learning experience that can be formal or informal and last for months, a year or longer, depending in part on the development objective.

A mentor is a trusted advisor and role model who creates a supportive learning environment and shares with those he/she mentors personal experience and insight about problem-solving and how to ensure success. Our Service committee is working on the development of a pilot project it hopes to launch in the Fall, 2023.

If you are willing to share personal experiences in the interest of learning, can probe and ask high-impact questions to generate meaningful dialogue, are open to listening to the perspectives of others, this may be a way to help your fellow first-time sponsors. You are the kind of person who can demonstrate empathy around issues raised while showing care and concern for others.

If this interests you, get in touch with Barbara at b.sheffield@rogers.com and she will connect you to the committee.
